Purgatory Purgatory

Purgatory

PURGATORY
souls who, surprised by death, are not as guilty as to deserve hell, nor good enough to be admitted immediately Heaven must be purified in purgatory.
The existence of Purgatory is defined truth of faith.

1) Sacred Scripture
In the second book of Maccabees (12.43 to 46) is written that Judas, commander in chief of the Jewish troops, after fighting a bloody battle against Gorgias, during the which many of his soldiers were left on the ground, rallied the survivors and offered them to do a collection for the repose of their souls. The harvest of the collection was sent to Jerusalem, because it would offer expiatory sacrifices for that purpose.
Jesus in the Gospel (Matt. 25.26 and 5.26) does refer to this truth when he says that there are two places in the afterlife of punishment: one where the punishment never ends "will go away into eternal punishment" and the other where the punishment is over when all the debt to Divine Justice is paid 'until the last penny. " In the Gospel of St.
Matthew (12:32) Jesus says: "Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can not be forgiven either in this world or another." From these words it is clear that in some future life is no remission of sins, which can not be that venial. This waiver shall not take place in Purgatory.
In the first Epistle to the Corinthians (3,13-15) St. Paul says: "If the work of someone will be found deficient, it will be deprived of his wages. But he will be saved at the cross fire. " Even in this passage clearly speaks of Purgatory.

2) the Magisterium of the Church
a) The Council of Trent, in the twenty-fifth session, proclaims: "Enlightened by the Holy Spirit, drawing from the Holy Scriptures and the ancient Tradition of the Fathers, the Catholic Church teaches that there is a "state of purification, purgatory, and souls are held in aid of believers the votes, especially in the Sacrifice at the altar God acceptable "."
b) The Second Vatican Council in the Constitution on the Church - cap. 7 - No 49 'affirms the existence of Purgatory, saying, "Until the Lord comes in his glory and all the angels with Him, and death being destroyed, not will be subjected all things, some of his disciples are pilgrims on earth others, passed from this life, are purified, and others are in glory beholding God. "
c) The Catechism of 5. Pius X, the application 101, replies: "Purgatory is the suffering of the temporary deprivation of God and other penalties that take away from the soul of every other sin to make it worthy to see God."
d) Catechism of the Catholic Church, the numbers 1030 and 1031, said: "Those who die in God's grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, although they are assured of their eternal salvation, but are subjected, after their death, to a purification, in order to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of Heaven.
The Church calls Purgatory to this final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned. "

punishments of Purgatory
is certain that the sufferings of Purgatory are so strong and intense that no uomo sarà mai capace con la sua piccola mente di comprenderne l’acerbità.

San Tommaso d’Aquino

I do not think that after enjoying the happiness of the saints in glory, there is a joy similar to that of the souls in purgatory. It is certain that these souls reconcile two seemingly irreconcilable things: have a total joy and at the same time without suffering many torments that the two things so opposite and exclude you from destroying each other.
St. Catherine of Genoa

WE HELP THE SOULS IN PURGATORY

My priestly and religious vocation is a grace that I attach great to my daily prayers for the souls in Purgatory, which I learned as a child by my mother.
Beato Angelo d'Acri

When I get some grace of God have recourse to the souls in Purgatory and I feel to be heard for their intercession.
St. Catherine of Bologna

the street, in his spare time, I always pray for the souls in Purgatory. These holy souls with their intercession saved me from many dangers of soul and body.
San Leonardo da Porto Maurizio

I never asked for thanks to the souls in Purgatory without being answered. In fact, the ones that I could not get by heavenly spirits I have obtained through the intercession of the souls in Purgatory.
Santa Teresa D'Avila

Every day listening Mass for the holy souls in Purgatory, this pious custom which I must continually receive many graces for me and my friends.
San Contardo Ferrini

OUR VOTES
For four reasons we should meditate on Purgatorio e pregare per le anime purganti.

San Roberto Belarmino

La devozione delle anime purganti è la migliore scuola di vita cristiana: ci spinge alle opere di misericordia, ci insegna la preghiera, ci fa ascoltare la Santa Messa , accustomed to meditation and penance, urges people to do good works and give alms, do avoid the mortal sin and venial sin, the fear, the sole cause of the permanence of the souls in Purgatory.
San Leonardo da Porto Maurizio

prayer for the dead is more acceptable to God for the living than the dead because they need it and can not help themselves, how can they do instead the living.
St. Thomas Aquinas

For your dead, to show them your love, you offer not only purple, but above all prayers; not only cured the funeral, but suffragateli with alms, indulgences, and works of charity, do not worry only for the building of sumptuous tombs, but especially for the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
The external manifestations are a relief for you, the spiritual works are a vote for them, they have long awaited and desired.
St. John Chrysostom

is certain that nothing is more effective suffrage and the liberation of souls from the fire of Purgatory, for they offer to God the Sacrifice of the Mass.
San Roberto Belarmino

During the celebration of Holy Mass, how many souls are freed from purgatory! Those for which we are celebrating not suffer from, accelerate their atonement or just fly in heaven, because Mass is the key that opens two doors: one to get out of Purgatory, that of Paradise to enter it forever.
Jerome

Pray always the Blessed Virgin Mary for the souls in Purgatory. Our Lady awaits your prayer to bring God's throne and immediately free the souls for whom you pray.

Message of November 2, 1983 (Post Extraordinary)
Most men, when he dies, goes to purgatory. A large number also go to Hell. Only a small number of souls go directly to heaven. You should give up anything to be taken directly to Heaven when you die.

Message of November 6, 1986
Dear children, today I invite you to pray daily for the souls in Purgatory. For every soul is needed prayer and the grace to reach God and love of God with this, dear children, receive new intercessors who will help you in life to realize that the things of earth are not important to you ; that only the sky is the goal toward which to strive. Therefore, dear children, pray without ceasing that you can help yourselves and others, to whom your prayers will bring joy. Thank you for having responded to my call!

We can give a bit 'of relief to those souls at this time reciting the following prayers, knowing that the Lord will grant many graces through their intercession, and then remember them in our prayers daily. Thanks

Amen.
